A Physical Therapy Tool to Encourage Rhythmic Stepping
Emma Step is an iOS app (iPhone and iPad) designed for those like my daughter – she's a little behind on walking but she's physically capable of getting there with some help. Emma Step helps by getting her focus and attention and guiding her on when to take the next step.
Bimodal, Rhythmic Prompting
Emma Step uses both visual and auditory cues to indicate when it is time to take a step. A portion of the screen changes color while showing the word for that step and that word is spoken at the same time. Plus, these prompts are at regular intervals that you change to suit your needs and that mimic the rhythmic pace of walking.
Easily change between two, three, and four steps. Need three steps, one for the left foot, another for the right, and a third for a walker? You can do that, plus change the order of each prompt.
